About Me

I’m Anna. Nice to meet you.

Born and raised in New Jersey, in 2007 I moved just over the border to Pennsylvania, the Lehigh Valley area, with my parents.

I moved back to New Jersey recently with my better half, Dave, who I met in our sophomore year of college. We live in an old farmhouse built circa 1917 that was recently renovated. We have been dating since 2017 and in 2020,  in spite of all of the bad stuff going on, we got engaged

From Anna’s Kitchen

After managing a personal blog since 2002 and maintaining websites for various companies I’ve worked for over the years in my different roles in marketing, I created From Anna’s Kitchen in June 2016 as a resource for food lovers everywhere.

When it comes to food, there’s really not a lot that I can say I don’t like. Except really strong, fishy things… for example, I still haven’t bought in to the idea of anchovies on a pizza and don’t think I ever will, and fish sauce in Thai food is essential but one whiff of it by itself when I’m making a curry (it’s a necessary evil; I’ve tried it without and it’s just not the same) and my face turns green.

I’m passionate about cooking, baking, canning and preserving, fermenting, brewing—any and all food-related thingsand enjoy sharing my recipes, tips, and experiences of the same with my friends, family, and you!

When I’m not in the kitchen

I’m an avid knitter and crocheter (are you? If so, friend me on Ravelry!). I also enjoy shopping, traveling, and going to concerts and events.

Dave and me in Cape May, NJ – August 2020

One of my personal goals is to visit all 50 states by the time I’m 40, a goal I set for myself on my 30th birthday.

I love animals and sharing pictures of our pets: Chip (boy) and Charli (girl), twin orange kitties who joined the family in 2018 and live with my mom along with Martin Jr. and Martin Sr., two black cats; Reggie, a black and white tuxedo boy that we found on the farm at Thanksgiving in 2019; and a fluffy tabby cat, Squeaker, who we think is part Persian and is as noisy as her name would imply.
